LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A large fight in the parking lot of a Henderson water park led to a shooting Friday night.
Henderson Police Department responded to Cowabunga Bay in the 900 block of Galleria Drive near Boulder Highway around 11 p.m. As they arrived, people started dispersing and were asked to leave the premises, police said.
Officers left the scene, but a short time later, a separate fight broke out and gunshots rang out, according to the news release.
Police returned to the parking lot to find a man with apparent gunshot wounds lying on the asphalt. Henderson first responders provided medical attention to the man and transported him to the hospital, police said. His condition is unknown.
One man was detained, and a possible suspect is outstanding, police said. However, officers believe they have identified the suspect.
The water park was open late for an adults-only night swim event.
Henderson police are actively investigating this shooting.
