LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A fire has broken out at a solar site in Boulder City Tuesday evening.

The Boulder City Police Department said the fire was reported at Townsite Solar around 7 p.m. The site is about 15 miles southeast of Henderson on Veteran’s Memorial Highway.

Boulder City Fire Department and Henderson Fire Department are on scene working to put out the flames.

It is unclear at this time if there is any property damage.

At 9:20 p.m., Boulder City reported that the fire is still burning and “will continue over the next four to six hours.”

Back in 2022, FOX5 reported when 500,000 solar panels were installed at this plant. At that time we also reported that the plant houses Tesla lithium batteries.

FOX5 is working to confirm what exactly is on fire at that plant.

This is a developing story.
