Fire forces evacuation of 21 people at Meadows Condominiums in central Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A fire ran through the Meadows Condominiums near Decatur Boulevard and Alta Drive on Saturday night.

All units of the 16-unit condominium were evacuated, according to Red Cross officials. The organization was helping 21 people from 10 different families who were displaced.

“This fire has upended the lives in our community, and our priority is to offer swift support and resources to aid in their recovery,” said Rachel Flanigan, executive director of the American Red Cross Southern Nevada Chapter.

Red Cross officials said mental health and spiritual care services were also available to residents. The aid organization said the fire caused significant smoke and water damage. No one was hurt.
