LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department had a busy St. Patrick’s Day as they were keeping roads safe across the valley.

Officials say officers handed out 285 citations while also arresting five drivers for DUI and six for other offences during a St. Patrick’s Day enforcement blitz.

In addition, officers towed 15 vehicles as part of the operation.

Authorities urged drivers to plan ahead when celebrating, recommending a designated sober driver or a rideshare, noting that “a little luck” won’t prevent the consequences of impaired driving.
