LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Five UNLV women’s golf student-athletes were named to the 2023-24 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars, the organization announced Monday.

Rising seniors Toa Yokoyama, McKenzi Hall and Mayumi Umezu each earned their third career honor among the 1,497 women’s collegiate golfers around the country that received the recognition. Maddie Laux – who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education – and Thienna Huynh also received the award.

This marks the sixth straight year the Rebels have placed at least three student-athletes on the list. The Scarlet & Gray also posted its highest number of selections since the 2010-11 season.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50.
