CLARK COUNTY, Nev. (KOLO) – The Chair of the Clark County Republican Party is accusing Attorney General Aaron Ford of violating campaign law.
Jill Douglass submitted an election integrity violation report to the Secretary of State’s Office, saying Ford’s campaign kept its fundraising portal open after Governor Joe Lombardo formally declared the Special Legislative Session.
Douglass also says she received a fundraising email fm the campaign after the declaration.
According to Douglass, state law prohibits some officials from soliciting or accepting contributions during that time.
A spokesperson from AG Ford’s Office responded to the allegations, saying in part “A third party vendor failed to de-activate a required link at midnight despite a clear written agreement with the campaign to do so. The vendor immediately took responsibility, apologizing for both its delay and its oversight. The campaign is fully compliant with all rules.”
The vendor in question, ActBlue, also sent KOLO 8 News Now a statement taking full responsibility for the error, saying it has taken action to correct it.
