Former Las vegas City Councilwoman set to be sentenced in wire fraud scheme

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The courts have set a new sentencing day for former Las Vegas City Councilwoman Michelle Fiore.

In October of last year, a jury convicted Fiore on six counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

She could face up to 140 years in prison when sentenced on May 14.

Fiore collected money to build a police officers’ memorial that never came to fruition she was found guilty of pocketing donations.

She maintains her innocence in fact, she’s suing for a new trial.

The former justice of the peace claims she had ineffective counsel the first time.
