LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas rescue team rescued four hikers stuck in Red Rock Canyon on Saturday afternoon.

According to LVMPD Search and Rescue, the climbers became stranded when their rope got stuck along the “Cat in the Hat” trail in Pine Creek Canyon. Crews arrived around 3 p.m. and began climbing the route to get to the group.

An AIR3 aircraft also launched from the opposite side of the canyon, inserting a SAR officer to help with extraction as well.

All four were extracted with a skid landing on a ledge at the second pitch along the route. The group was then flown to the Pine Creek parking lot and transferred to BLM and LVMPD resident officers.
