LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas is about to get even brighter Tuesday night.

An array of fireworks will be launched from nine rooftop locations along the Strip to ring in the new year.

But one hotel off the Strip is where all the magic happens. That would be at the Rio, the Command Center for the fireworks display on the 38th floor.

Even though they’re getting ready for “America’s Party 2025,” the team at Firewworks by Grucci won’t be celebrating beforehand. Take it from Logistics Coordinator, Christopher Grucci.

“Up here it’ll be all business until the show starts and ends. We’ll be locked in, making sure that we deliver the best performance that we can,” Grucci said.

He says this Command Center isn’t like what you might see in the movies.

“So we don’t push any buttons anymore to start our shows,” Grucci said.

Instead, he explained the new way big fireworks productions like this are put on these days.

“What we have is our radio communications expert and he’s in charge of making sure that the noise you hear the FSK is being transmitted to all nine properties,” Grucci said.

That frequency is sending digital signals or a script for the other hotels.

It tells a program when and what to fire.

Grucci says there’s a reason they’re so high in the sky just off the Strip.

“We get to see all nine properties get to make sure we keep our eye on everything that’s happening,” Grucci explains. “If we notice anything that might be not what we expected, we’re able to communicate with the authorities.”

In the room with them, the Clark County Fire Department and Metro Police to name a few.

Grucci says 20 people will be in the Command Center on New Year’s Eve.

He adds his team’s work doesn’t stop once the clock strikes midnight. They’re already thinking ahead!

“This is an all-year production that we start the moment the smoke from the previous show clears,” Grucci said.

The Fireworks by Grucci team puts over 3,500 hours into making sure the show goes off without a hitch.

Next year will be the 25th anniversary of the show.

Grucci says they’re planning to pull out all the stops with an even bigger and better production.
