LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Two people were shot and killed outside a Las Vegas Strip resort late Sunday night.
Although the victims have not been officially identified, a friend has identified them as Arizona-based Youtuber “Finny Da Legend,” and his wife, “Bubbly,” to FOX5.
Video circulating online shows Finny livestreaming from the Strip on Sunday night.
Las Vegas Metro Police have identified the accused shooter as 41-year-old Manuel Ruiz. A man, who appears to be Ruiz, is captured on Finny’s livestream Sunday night firing several shots.
Finny’s friend, Derek Ware, said Finny is more than a Youtuber. He was a son, a father, and a grandfather.
“He’s a good father. He takes care of his kids,” Ware said.
Ware described Finny as a big, friendly guy.
“If something was wrong, he would just always check up on me,” Ware said. “He’s donated to people that needed help online.”
He was a husband, too. Ware said Finny’s wife, Bubbly, lived up to her name, lighting up every room she entered.
“She would have fun everywhere she went. People wanted to be around her,” Ware said.
Ware said he actually met Finny years ago, through Ruiz’s livestream. He offered insight on the feud between Finny and Ruiz, who went by “Sin City Family” online.
“This was brewing, this brewed for two years,” Ware said.
Ware said the feud started in 2023 when Ruiz pepper sprayed Bubbly.
“I was saying, ‘I’m just glad it was pepper spray, it wasn’t bullets,” Ware said. “I said, ‘I don’t want to. I don’t want to see you here in pain with bullets in you, so let’s figure this out.’”
Ware said, even after the pepper-spraying incident, Finny never got physical. Instead, he chose to fight back online.
“His wife said she was OK, so he was just like, ‘OK, let’s handle this another way,’” Ware said. “He controls his emotions very well. That’s what I liked about him the most.”
Ware said Finny hosted a live stream where people could speak freely about anything, including Vegas-based youtubers like Ruiz.
“Manny was welcome to come on and defend himself. He kept it fair. It wasn’t just a bash. It wasn’t just, ‘let’s talk about Manny, talk bad about Manny.’ It’s just everybody’s experiences,” Ware said.
Ware said as Ruiz lost followers, Finny’s online popularity grew. But, he said he never thought Ruiz would escalate to this level of violence.
“That’s just, that’s just sickening. That’s just sick,” Ware said. “What do you get out of that? I don’t get that. You just ruined two families.”
Ware added, if he wasn’t resting for an upcoming surgery, he could have been with Finny on the strip Sunday night.
FOX5 has reached out to the Clark County Coroner for an official identification of the victims of Sunday night’s shooting.
