LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A German motorcyclist died north of Las Vegas after crashing into a concrete barrier, Nevada State Police said.

Police said the crash happened Thursday, Sept. 12 at 4:56 p.m. The 63-year-old man rode northbound on I-15, about 3 miles south of Mesquite.

He drove a 2024 Harley Davidson Classic. Police said he failed to maintain his travel lane and traveled to the far left, hitting a concrete median barrier wall.

Police do not know the reason for the crash. He would be transported to a hospital where later died.

Police identified the motorcyclist as Fridolin Peter Theodor Peters. He’s from Steinfurt, Germany.

Nevada State Police said their traffic homicide unit is investigating the crash.

2024 Year to date: The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command has investigated 52 fatal crashes resulting in 60 fatalities.
