LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A man died after police said his girlfriend’s adult son shot him during a verbal altercation in northeast Las Vegas on Sunday.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. Sunday in the 10000 block of Blackburn Avenue in northeast Las Vegas, near the intersection of Hualapai Way and Grand Teton Drive.

Dispatchers received reports of gunfire in the area. When officers arrived, they found a man inside a residence who had been shot. He died at the scene. Investigators determined the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation between the man and his girlfriend’s adult son, who is in his mid-20s. Police said the son shot the man.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were able to locate the accused shooter, who was taken into custody.
