LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Vice Presidential candidate Gov. Tim Walz was in Las Vegas Sunday, just over a week before election day.
He was at La Vecinidad Canitina on Sahara for a Latinos con Harris-Walz rally and Raider watch party.
“You know the assignment. This thing’s got 9 days left,” Gov. Walz said to supporters, urging them to cast their ballots and encourage others to do the same.
“It’s going to be voter turnout. It’s going to be one of two votes per precinct in states like Nevada that make the difference,” he said.
The crowd also watched the Raiders take on the Chiefs.
“It’s ironic that the score is tied because that’s indicative of just how close this election is going to be,” said Rep. Steven Horsford during the game, introducing Gov. Walz.
“This is going to come down to about 5 to 7 states, Nevada being one of them. It’s going to be close because our country’s divided,” said Gov. Walz.
“Lifting up the middle class, making sure women have reproductive rights. These are the things that matter,” added Gov. Walz.
“I’m here passionate about women’s rights and especially also worker’s rights as a tip-earning worker in the casino industry in Nevada,” said Las Vegas resident Kanie Castroll, who attended the event.
“It’s labor that built the middle class, it’s labor that built America, and we know that we have to do it here in Nevada,” said Gov. Walz.
The last day for early voting in Nevada is November 1.
Both Vice President Kamala Harris and Former President Donald Trump will be in Southern Nevada Thursday — in the final fight to win Nevada’s vote.
