LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Governor Joe Lombardo announced Wednesday a statewide multimedia art competition for Nevada students from Pre-K through 12th grade.

Governor Lombardo’s Multimedia Challenge invites students to showcase their creativity across various art forms, including painting, drawing, ceramics and filmmaking, according to a press release from the governor’s office.

The competition encourages students to express what it’s like living in Nevada today, whether they come from Las Vegas, Reno, small towns, the desert or the mountains of Lake Tahoe.

Finalists will receive an official certificate from the governor’s office and have their artwork displayed in the state Capitol. They will also meet Lombardo.

The top entries will be preserved in a time capsule to be opened on Nevada’s 200th birthday in 40 years.

The governor’s office said competition details are available on an attached flyer but did not specify submission deadlines or judging criteria in the announcement.
