LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Gov. Joe Lombardo visited Arturo Cambeiro Elementary School in Las Vegas on Tuesday for Nevada Reading Week.the reinstatement of
Lombardo said the week is an opportunity to inspire students and celebrate educators who nurture a lifelong love of reading. State Superintendent Dr. Victor Wakefield also joined Lombardo to read to students.
Education initiatives highlighted during visit
The visit highlighted the administration’s recent initiatives, including the reinstatement of accountability measures for the “Read by Grade 3” program.
Lombardo also pointed to historic investments in education, permanent teacher pay raises, and new legislation aimed at improving student outcomes across the state.
