LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – UPDATE:
Metro police are investigating a deadly stabbing in the south valley near Cactus Avenue and Bermuda Road.
Metro Homicide Lieutenant Robert Price said police received a 911 call from a male caller reporting his nephew stabbed his father.
As police arrived at the house in the 10700 block of Wildhurst Street they saw the garage door open and the suspect inside the garage.
The suspect, in his late 20’s, was taken into custody without incident.
The grandmother, the wife of the victim, was woken up by her grandson acting strangely inside her bedroom.
Police earlier told us the suspect was going through rooms in the house and grabbed a knife.
He left the bedroom, and the grandmother followed him downstairs.
That’s when the grandson approached the grandfather, who was lying on the couch, and unprovoked, started stabbing his grandfather.
Officers tried to save him, but he died at UMC hospital.
Metro says the grandson lived with his grandparents.
