LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas Athletic Clubs shares that one of their employees, Edgar Quinonez, died in Friday’s shooting in a post on social media.

FOX5 is hearing from one of Edgar’s co-workers who was at the front desk with him when the shooting happened. Joey Chantarasakha spent every weekend over the past year at that front LVAC desk with Quinonez.

“He started off as a housekeeper and then worked his way up to become a GM. It was just one of the most heartbreaking things I ever went through is just seeing him in his final moments,” Chantarasakha said.

It’s those final moments that will, unfortunately, stay with him forever.

“Just me being on the forefront and seeing my manager within his last moments and hearing all those shots, it’s left an imprint on my brain and just how I see things and I think it’s going to take a little bit of time for me to be ok after a while, you know?”

Edgar Quinonez worked at LVAC for 15 years.

Chantarasakha says he had his co-worker pegged as an all-around great guy who will be missed.

“Edgar was the type of person that cared about everyone in the community and you can see it in the comments sections and under all the posts, the widespread love that everybody had for Edgar,” Chantarasakha said. “He would have wanted me to speak more on him and give him the light that he deserves because he deserves to be recognized for who he was.”

The gym has now reopened on Monday morning.
