LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Clark County Coroner released the latest numbers of heat-related deaths for 2024.
Monday, the coroner said heat was a factor in 491 deaths. This is nearly 100 more deaths since the coroner’s last update mid-October.

The coroner says drugs could make people more susceptible to heat, including fentanyl.
“In addition to the use of drugs, other contributing factors in heat deaths can include illnesses and medical conditions such as cardiovascular disease as well as behaviors such as physical exertion, inappropriate clothing, lack of acclimatization and poor fluid intake,” the coroner said.
