LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – If you are looking for a new furry companion, the Henderson Animal Shelter’s new foster to adopt program could make it easier.
The shelter now allows all dogs that have been at the shelter four weeks or more to be fostered out.
Danielle Harney the Animal Control Administrator for City of Henderson tells FOX5, she has been working on the program for many years.
She worked with city attorney’s to decide the was best option for the animals to get them out of the shelter environment.
“We are hoping it will help in a sense there is no pressure no one is signing the adoption papers right now this very second. With that being said we are hoping they will give the animal more time to decompressed or maybe work out those issues,” Harney said.
The dogs in the foster to adopt program are neutered, spayed and vaccinated.
You can take the dogs on a field trip for an overnight stay or keep them for up to 30 days before adopting.
