LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The city of Henderson will start its recruitment process this week to select a new police chief, according to a memo shared by FOX5 sources.
This memo was written by city manager, Stephanie Garcia-Vause, who fired former Chief Hollie Chadwick on March 6th. Chadwick was given two options in February: either resign or be fired following a three week administrative leave.
Chadwick was with the department for more than two decades before being promoted to the Chief in 2023.
According to the latest memo to the police department, Garcia-Vause said, “You deserve a great leader and it is my goal to fire a seasoned law enforcement professional who can establish a strong pipeline of future leaders to eventually become future Chief.”
She also said she expects the new police Chief to be in place by the summer and will update the department as they move forward.
FOX5 Victoria Saha recently sat down for an exclusive interview with the Henderson Police Officers Association on the chief’s firing.
We were told the union’s hopes are that the new Chief who comes in is of a younger generation and will want to invest in the department and be in it for the long run.
Chadwick was the 4th chief to be ousted for the city of Henderson since 2017.
