LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A motorcyclist is dead following a crash along a desert road Sunday morning.

The incident was reported just before 9 a.m. along State Route 167 (Northshore Road) at mile maker 16, according to an email by Nevada State Police.

Officials say a red 2024 Ducati Panigale motorcycle was going too fast for conditions as it entered a curve on northbound State Route 167. The rider left the roadway, went into the desert, and the motorcycle overturned, ejecting the rider.

The rider of the motorcycle was identified as 44-year-old Nicholas Sean Miller of Henderson. He would be pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is under investigation and is the 17th deadly crash this year in the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol’s Southern Command.
