LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Henderson police are expected to share more details on a deadly officer-involved shooting during a domestic violence call Thursday morning.
The shooting resulted in the death of a suspect who, police say, was chasing his ex-girlfriend with a knife and was shot by officers at the scene.
HPD initially responded to the scene near Wigwam Parkway and Valle Verde Drive after receiving a call from the suspect’s ex-girlfriend who said he was threatening her with a knife, would not let her leave, and would “shoot it out with police.”
The victim, speaking to FOX5, described the events leading up to the shooting. She said the man pulled her to the ground by her hair before she was able to escape.
“My whole life flashed right before me because he got me on the floor, and he pulled me by my hair,” she said. “And I’m surprised I didn’t die right there, because my neck should have snapped with the force.”
The press conference is expected to happen at 11:30 a.m. FOX5 will be there to livestream.
This is a developing story, check back later for updates.
