LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Henderson City Council has agreed to pay $3 million to settle a class action lawsuit with Whitney Ranch residents.
Residents near Whitney Ranch filed the lawsuit in Sept. 2022.
Monsoon flooding impacted many in the Rising Star Drive area near Whitney Mesa and Galleria in late July. Severe thunderstorms caused the flood channel to overflow.

Water moved through the streets like rivers and caused severe damage to some homes.
At the time, the city had planned to expand the channel, but the project was not completed in time to stop the effects of this storm.
Homeowners sued just a month later.
