LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The city of Henderson announced Tuesday that it was selected to be one of 16 communities that will participate in a program analyzing early childhood support.

The “Prenatal to Three Impact Lab” is a national initiative run by the National League of Cities, which aims to create strategies to aid parents facing financial, housing or food insecurity.

City leaders said they will work with national experts and other cities to better support mothers, infants and toddlers during the critical early years.

The program will give Henderson technical help, best practices and strategic guidance to coordinate services, use data more effectively and come up with long-term solutions for local families.

During a presentation on the initiative, city staff said this will help them better understand the challenges families face — from housing and childcare to workforce participation and gaps in family services.

Henderson was selected for its track record on family economic security and education.

The city is already investing in housing stability, workforce programs, family services and early learning — including a new early childhood education center that broke ground in January 2026.
