LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A hiker was rescued after a fall knocked them unconscious at Red Rock Canyon on Sunday.
According to Las Vegas Metro‘s Search and Rescue unit, the hiker was leading the climbing route “Marijuana” when his top piece of gear pulled out. The hiker’s leg was caught in his rope, which caused him to flip and hit his head.
The hiker was unconscious for approximately 20 minutes, according to LVMPD.
Search and Rescue responded in an AIR1 helicopter, lifted the hiker and their partner to safety, and treated their wounds.
The subject was then taken to the BLM Fire Station helipad, where they were then transported to a nearby hospital in an ambulance.
Further details about the hiker’s condition were not immediately available.
