LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Sharpen the pencils, get out the pads and calculators, or let your accountant do it all. This Tax season begins today.
You can file your taxes through the IRS direct file program for free.
Certain incomes are eligible for direct file. That includes W-2 wage income, social security income , unemployment compensation, interest income and retirement income.
Experts say positive feedback last year meant the direct file program could expand.
“One thing about last year was that it wasn’t actually available to use till about midway through the tax season, this year direct file will be available for eligible taxpayers to use on day one of tax season,” said Rebecca Wilder, Arizona Department of Revenue.

Beginning Jan. 3 the nonprofit will be open for Clark County taxpayers, seniors, and low to moderate income taxpayers.
You can visit their office on North Maryland Parkway from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Thursday.
