LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Cybercriminals have figured out how to access your PayPal account, and that could give them access to all your sensitive information.

Here’s what to look out for: You’ll get a legitimate invoice email from PayPal — but the clever criminals have attached their email address to yours. When you click the link inside the email, you inadvertently attach their email address to your account. That gives them access to your user credentials and your banking information.

To avoid falling prey to this phishing scam, never submit payments through a link provided via email. Always pay through an official website or app. Check email address carefully, and be suspicious of email sent to multiple address you don’t recognize.

And remember — even email from trusted companies or domains can be tainted in the hands of a cybercriminals.
