James ‘Fan Man’ Miller parachutes into ring at Caesars Palace

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — On this day in 1993, James “Fan Man” Miller parachuted into the ring during the seventh round of the Riddick Bowe vs. Evander Holyfield fight at Caesars Palace.

Referees put the bout on hold for more than 20 minutes while security untangled Miller’s chute, freed him from the hands of angry fans, and escorted him out of the venue.

Miller went to the hospital for injuries suffered during the scuffle. Police then arrested him and fined him 200 dollars.

The fight eventually resumed, and Holyfield won.
