LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – FOX5 has obtained new information in the investigation of the death of Reba the bulldog. The extreme case of animal cruelty, a dog left trapped in a plastic bin sealed with duct tape in the Las Vegas July heat, gained national attention.

The evidence included more than 200 pages of witness testimony and dozens of pictures and videos, a case Metro worked to put together for months that led to the arrests of two suspects: Isaac Laushaul, Jr. and Markeisha Chanpale Foster.

In a screenshot from store surveillance video, the two people who pulled Reba from the plastic bin left by a dumpster near Maryland and Twain are seen rushing her into the nearby Auto Zone store. A store employee recounted to the grand jury:

The couple who found the dog that would soon become known by rescuers as Reba had their own small white dog with them when they found her. The rescue was captured by motion activated cameras. The same cameras captured two people dumping the bin about an hour earlier.

At an apartment complex only about half a block away, a Nevada State Police Parole and Probation officer captured images of a dog in a crate on her body camera during a check on a family member of suspect Isaac Laushaul Junior just days before Reba was found dumped testifying:

Interactions at the apartment complex from other Metro officers were also reviewed capturing images of dog items outside the apartment including a water bowl and leash hanging off guardrail. Another neighbor testified the dog would be left outside throughout the summer months chained up to the guardrail and he would give her water.

Police say suspect Chanpale Foster admitted to leaving the dog to die claiming it had been sick beforehand. Both suspects remain in jail as of Monday night. Laushaul Junior is being held without bond. Chanpale Foster’s bond is set at $50,000. The trial is set for February.
