LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – FOX5 is monitoring police activity near Grant Sawyer Middle School.
Las Vegas Metro police say parents called regarding a person with a gun outside of the school. Police later confirmed it was a juvenile.
When officers arrived, they found someone with a fake gun.
The school was placed on lockdown out of precaution.
Police say the juvenile was detained in the 4500 block of Redwood.
Clark County School District Police confirmed with FOX5 that the school is secure and the lockdown has been lifted.
“There is no longer a threat to the school,” Metro police say. “This is still an ongoing investigation.”
Police say CCSD should be sending out a letter soon.
