LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The UNLV women’s basketball team is hitting the road for the first time this season to play Arizona on Tuesday, November 12. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. PT and the game will be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).

ABOUT THE OPPONENT: UNLV is 4-6 all-time against Arizona. The last meeting between the two teams was during the 2023-24 season and the Lady Rebels defeated the Wildcats 72-53. Arizona heads into the game with a 3-0 record beating UT Arlington, Tarleton State and UC San Diego. The Wildcats are led by Breya Cunningham who is averaging 13.7 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game.

LAST TIME ON THE COURT: The UNLV women’s basketball team secured an 85-71 victory over Northern Arizona on Education Day at The Thomas & Mack Center on Thursday morning. The Lady Rebels had their second game with five or more players scoring in double-digits. UNLV was led by Amarachi Kimpson’s 19 points as she shot 7-for-14 from the field, 3-for-4 from the free throw line and drained two three-pointers. McKinna Brackens chalked up her first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Kimpson and Brackens each also had four steals, which is a career-high for both of them. Aaliyah Alexander, Alyssa Brown and Kiara Jackson each collected 11 points versus the Lumberjacks.

WHAT UP SQUAD: The Lady Rebels return 10 of the 14 players from its 2024 championship squad, including two starters and Mountain West Sixth Player and Freshman of the Year Amarachi Kimpson. UNLV added two freshmen guards Teagan Colvin and Elli Guiney, and junior transfer Aaliyah Alexander from Eastern Washington.

THREE-PEAT LAST SEASON: The Lady Rebels have continued to bring the heat last season, which culminated with a third consecutive Mountain West Regular Season and Tournament Titles. UNLV became the first program in MW history to claim both titles in three straight seasons. The Scarlet & Gray earned its third automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, a first in both program and league history. The Lady Rebels finished the season only one of two squads to have two (South Carolina) straight seasons with 30 wins. UNLV earned its highest ranking in both the AP and Coaches Poll coming in at No. 20 and No. 19. The Lady Rebels appeared in the Top-25 eight times this season and came into the season receiving votes for the first time in 19 years. UNLV claimed the MW’s Player of the Year in Desi-Rae Young (All-MW Team and All-Defensive Team), and Sixth and Freshman of the Year with Amarachi Kimspon (All-MW Team honorable mention and All-Freshman MW Team). Kiara Jackson earned All-MW team accolades and Alyssa Brown was named MW Tournament MVP.
