LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Court documents obtained by FOX5 detail the moment a Nevada Highway Patrol officer spotted Lamar Odom driving recklessly.

On Jan. 17, around 2 a.m., a Nevada Highway Patrol officer located a Dodge Durango traveling along the I-15 south of Russell Road, the arrest report detailed.

The NHP trooper stated that when they initially saw the car speeding, they estimated its speed to be around 90mph. However, as they attempted to get behind the SUV, the trooper accelerated to about 105mph, according to the arrest report. The NHP officer called for backup and activated their police sirens as they approached Tropicana.

The arrest report states the driver maintained their speed, moved lanes without a signal, then signaled in both directions without switching lanes. The trooper believed the driver was unaware that they were directly behind them, even with their sirens on. The driver finally came to a stop on the right shoulder north of Spring Mountain Road, the court document said.

The NHP officer identified the driver as Lamar Odom, who was traveling with an unidentified male passenger. The officer said the pair had colored, bloodshot, and watery eyes. Meanwhile, a significant odor of Marijuana was coming from the car, according to the arrest report.

Court documents say Odom told the officer the reason for speeding was that he was on the phone with his manager, but he was almost home.

The arrest report revealed that Odom failed the field sobriety test. Odom was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center around 3 a.m. for DUI, driving 41mph over the posted speed limit, and unsafely changing lanes.

According to court records, Odom is set to appear in court on March 17.
