LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Human rights activists in Las Vegas have organized a rally and candlelight vigil in honor of Brandon Durham.
On Tuesday, Nov. 12, Brandon Durham was shot and killed by a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer after Durham called 911 for help.
Organizers announced the event is set for Saturday, Nov. 30 beginning at 3 p.m. at the MLK Statue in North Las Vegas.
This is the second event the community has organized in an effort to seek justice for Durham’s death.
On Nov. 23 a protest was organized in Downtown Las Vegas.
Durham’s family have requested the officer be held accountable and would like to see long-term changes.
“I am broken, the family is broken,” said Durham’s friend, Trevon Frederick. “I speak for my friend Brandon Durham. I want justice for him.”
