LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas-area hospital is dealing with an air conditioning outage amid excessive heat around the valley.

Summerlin Hospital, near Summerlin Parkway and Town Center Drive, is currently without A/C is parts of the hospital, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Additional details about which areas were impacted and the cause of the problems was not immediately available.

A source said an internal notification alerted EMS providers to opt to bring patients to other nearby hospitals rather than Summerlin Hospital.

A representative with AMR said they have paused transports to Summerlin Hospital “until further notice.” They said there was no timeframe on when things may return to normal.

The outage comes as the Las Vegas Valley deals with a record heat wave, with Friday being the tenth consecutive day above 110 degrees.
