LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas defense attorney and former prosecutor involved in the infamous 1997 “Black Widow” case was arrested this past weekend.

According to Las Vegas Metro Police, an investigation found that Gary Guymon, 62, was using his position as a criminal defense attorney to “victimize individuals of sex trafficking and prostitution.” He appeared in Clark County Detention Center records on Monday morning, facing multiple charges of:

  • Sex Trafficking
  • Pandering (3 Counts)
  • Bribing or Intimidating Witness to Influence Testimony
  • Perjury
  • Conspiracy to Commit Murder
  • Solicitation to Commit Murder
  • Coercion

According to his website, Guymon has been a trial attorney for over 25 years, working in the Clark County District Attorney’s office from 1990 to 2005. At one point, Guymon earned the title of Chief Deputy District Attorney, working on specialized Homicide and Sexual Assault Units.

“Gary was also responsible for prosecuting all sexual assaults and crimes against children cases,” his website reads. “Gary instructed the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on issues concerning search and seizure to all cadets, patrol officers, and detectives.”

According to police, his alleged crimes occurred during his time in private practice.

FOX5 has reached out to the Clark County District Attorney’s office for comment on his arrest.
