LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Las Vegas Aviators defeated the Albuquerque Isotopes, 21-5, in the finale of the six-game homestand before a crowd of 6,041 at Las Vegas Ballpark.

The Aviators improved to 17-15 in the second half and 54-53 overall. Albuquerque dropped to 14-19 and 40-68. Las Vegas, winners of three straight games, was 4-2 on the homestand.

Las Vegas broke the scoreless tie with a 10-run third inning scored a season-high 21 runs and tied its season-high with 22 hits.

Seven Las Vegas players recorded multiple-hit games led by second baseman Max Muncy. He was 5-for-5, with a double, three home runs (grand slam in the eighth inning), 8 RBI, and five runs scored. The last Aviators player to hit three home runs was Kevin Smith at Reno on April 2, 2023. Las Vegas franchise record for most RBI in a single game is 10 by Eddie Williams (L.V. Stars) at Calgary on April 22, 1998. Designated hitter Jordan Diaz was 3-for-4, double, HR, 3 RBI, two runs scored; first baseman Ryan Noda was 3-for-5, walk, double, solo home run, two runs scored and left fielder Colby Thomas was 3-for-4, two home runs, 3 RBI, including an inside-the-park home run in the eighth inning.

Aviators left-hander Brady Basso recorded the victory. He pitched 5.0 innings and allowed 4 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), walked 1, and struck out 7 on 75 pitches (47 strikes).

Albuquerque right-hander Dakota Hudson suffered the loss. He pitched 2.2 innings and allowed 7 hits, 7 runs (5 earned), walked 1, and struck out 2 on 58 pitches (37 strikes).

The PCL has a scheduled off day on Monday, August 5. Las Vegas will then embark on a six-game road trip to Salt Lake City, Utah to face the Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, from Tuesday-Sunday, August 6-11. Salt Lake is in first place (21-12) in the second half and Las Vegas trails the Bees by 3 ½ games.
