LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Albuquerque Isotopes (Mariachis de Nuevo Mexico) defeated the Las Vegas Aviators (Reyes de Plata) 15-11 in the opener of the six-game homestand before a crowd of 5,027 at Las Vegas Ballpark Tuesday night.
Albuquerque improved to 13-15 in the second half and 39-64 overall and Las Vegas dropped to 13-14 and 50-52.
The Isotopes had five players record multiple-hit games: third baseman Elehuris Montero was 4-for-5, HR, 2 RBI, three runs scored. First baseman Grant Lavigne was 4-for-5, HR, 6 RBI; designated hitter Sean Bouchard was 3-for-5, double, HR, 2 RBI, two runs scored.
Albuquerque right-hander Dakota Hudson recorded the victory. He pitched 5.0 innings and allowed 2 hits, 1 run, walked 1 and struck out 5 on 77 pitches (47 strikes).
Las Vegas right-hander Brandon Bielak suffered the loss. He pitched 3.0 innings and allowed 9 hits, 7 runs (6 earned), issued no walks and struck out 2 on 63 pitches (39 strikes).
The Aviators had four players record multiple-hit games: left fielder Colby Thomas was 4-for-4, walk, two doubles, two home runs, 4 RBI. Shortstop Darell Hernaiz (ML rehab) was 2-for-4, walk, three runs scored and center fielder Ryan Noda was 2-for-5, two runs scored, 4 RBI, three-run home run.
