LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Crashes on Las Vegas roads have claimed 19 lives so far in 2026, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said Wednesday morning.

According to an LVMPD post on X, the recent fatalities include a pedestrian in a crosswalk killed by an RV, a speeding motorcyclist killed when a vehicle turned into his path, a pedestrian outside a marked crosswalk hit by a motorcyclist, and a motorcyclist killed after hitting a median.

The top causal factors for deadly crashes, according to police, remain failure to yield right of way, pedestrian error and excessive speed.

Despite the recent fatalities, traffic-related deaths are down more than 35% compared to last year.

Police are urging drivers to slow down, pay extra attention and avoid driving impaired.
