LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – It’s a tense time for many Tesla owners and employees. Targeted attacks have been reported across the country, and in Las Vegas, several cars were set on fire at a Tesla collision center on March 18.

After several Teslas were set on fire in a targeted attack at a Tesla collision center in the southwest valley, a few Las Vegas Tesla owners came up with a way to show their gratitude for local Tesla employees.

“They’ve been through a lot,” said Las Vegas Tesla owner Carmen Scuito. “I’ve had experience with them at both centers, both the collision centers and the service centers, and they’re great people. They work very hard, and they’ve been through a lot. So we want to show our appreciation for them.”

On Saturday, Scuito and other local Tesla drivers picked up donuts for employees at Tesla centers across the Las Vegas valley — to let the employees know their hard work is appreciated, even with their employer under fire.

“Thank you. That’s amazing. Thank you. We appreciate it,” said a Tesla employee. “This will definitely help. For sure.”

Las Vegas Metro Police said Molotov cocktails and a firearm were used to set the Teslas on fire at the collision center, and some spraypainted with the word ‘resist.’

Across the country and overseas, Tesla showrooms, lots, charging stations and private cars have been targeted.

Tesla incidents across country

The FBI put out an alert Friday, saying since January of 2025, at least nine states have reported incidents targeting Tesla EVs — involving arson, gunfire and vandalism.

Scuito said the hate towards the company and CEO Elon Musk should be steered away from Tesla employees and drivers.

“A lot of people aren’t really into politics at all. People who have their cars might have had it for a long time. You know, when Elon was on one side, and then he’s kind of going back and forth, and some people just have their cars and love their cars and don’t think much about the politics of it, and if they’re the ones who get harmed, it’s just unfortunate,” he said.
