LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Las Vegas farmers market is collecting donations for TSA workers affected by a partial government shutdown that has put paychecks on hold.
Prevail Marketplace at Exploration Peak Park organized the food drive to help federal employees during the funding lapse.
Donations so far have been mostly non-perishables like canned food and cereal.

“I hope life gets back to normal for them, that they can keep getting their paychecks, and that the funding doesn’t get taken away from them again,” said Eric Donner, Prevail Marketplace manager. “But my main thing really is just trying to make sure everybody gets what they need to survive.”
Organizers said they hope to keep TSA families afloat until the shutdown ends.
The next food drive is April 11 at Cornerstone Park on Wigwam between Stephanie and Arroyo Grande from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
