LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol homicide unit identified the woman who was hit and killed by a vehicle while walking.
The victim, 47-year-old Ann Kathleen Simmons, was walking southbound when a gray 2006 Toyota Scion coupe traveling northbound on State Route 159 collided with Simmons, according to police.
Simmons died on the scene due to her injuries.
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and cooperated with the officers.
According to reports, there have been 50 fatal crashes resulting in 58 fatalities.
The NSPH Traffic Homicide unit is conducting the investigation.
This is a developing story as investigators and the coroner’s office conclude their investigation.
