LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – If you see first responders in hazmat suits near Lake Mead Parkway, don’t be alarmed!
Henderson and Las Vegas fire departments are participating in an annual HazMat training exercise on Lake Mead and Olsen Street on Tuesday, starting at noon. The exercise will take place at Wells Enterprise Ice Cream Plant.
The exercise is being hosted by the City of Henderson and the Southern Nevada Community Awareness Emergency Response Association. It aims to help valley first responders recognize the need to plan for emergencies involving dangerous chemicals.
Officials emphasize that there is no need to be alarmed or call 911 if you come across the exercise.
However, if you do see something suspicious that is not related to the training or if you are unsure, please call 311.
