LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas judge has dismissed murder charges against Margaret Rudin, also known as the “Black Widow.”

In a Monday hearing, Judge Mary Kay Holthus granted Rudin’s release and scheduled an official dismissal hearing for Jan. 6, 2025.

In 1994, Rudin’s husband Ron Rudin, a real estate developer, disappeared. His burned remains would be discovered a month later at Nelson’s Landing in Boulder City.

Margaret Rudin was found guilty of her husband’s murder in 2001 and was sentenced to life in prison with a chance of parole. She maintained her innocence for over two decades.

In 2022, a federal judge vacated her conviction after ruling that she was not granted a fair trial. Earlier this year, she filed a wrongful conviction lawsuit.

Rudin is expected back in court on Monday, Jan. 6.
