LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — As the Fourth of July holiday nears, law enforcement officials are ramping up confiscations of illegal fireworks across the Las Vegas valley.
According to a social media post from Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, more than 7,000 pounds of illegal fireworks were confiscated across the valley ahead of the July Fourth holiday.
The photos, which showed dozens of boxes of the confiscated contraband in the back of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department vehicles, were posted Wednesday morning. The boxes shown in the images included fireworks labeled “Ganja Jamrock,” “Megabanger,” “Get Lit,” “Blood Moon,” “After Dark” and “Star Box,” among other types of explosives.

The post credited the confiscations to “Fireworks Task Force Partners,” adding that 99 citations had been issued in the process. Fire officials said enforcement is expected to continue through the July Fourth holiday.
