LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – It’s only three weeks until kids are back in classrooms, but there’s still time for summer activities.

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is still putting on its Summer Challenge, where kids and adults can earn points toward prizes by doing some of the many activities at their local libraries that go beyond just reading.

“Of course, we want to prevent the summer slide before we head back to school with plenty of reading, but also the activities that kids, teens, and adults like us love to do too,” Ryan Simoneau with the Library District told FOX5 on Monday. “You can visit our 15 award-winning art galleries, you can learn how to do some 3D printing, record your own podcast, learn how to code.”

The Windmill Library also has a scavenger hunt in which participants can search for a Kraken and survive several perils along the way. The hunt takes adventurers through different parts of the library and also goes toward earning points for the program.

Simoneau added, “We’ve got great prizes that kids, teens, and adults can win from the Vegas Golden Knights, NBA Summer League, and the Illuminarium, and so many more great partners.”
