LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – After the sale of the Cashman center site for $36 million to Lennar was approved by city council last week.
The Las Vegas Lights are now on the move to find a new home.
Team owner Jose Bautista held a press conference and shared the teams plans. Lights FC was already in the process of looking for a new facility, this sale may have expedited their next steps.
Bautista says that there are a handful of options that have been explored and he is confident in the prospect of a new location. Whether that be a pre-existing stadium in the valley or to start fresh and build a venue that could also host international soccer events and grow the sports presence in las Vegas.
“We were looking for a new home already. It could’ve been cashman. It seems like a more remote possibility now that there is a new landlord. We have a number of sites we are considering. Something the local community is proud of. Something that has a bit more of an elevated feel and cashe. Perhaps even draw international fans and some bigger events.” Said jose bautista, Lights FC owner.
The Las Vegas Lights will remain at Cashman through 2025 and 2026.
