LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 79-year-old Las Vegas man died over a week after an east valley crash, police say.
On Sept. 4, just before 7 p.m., four vehicles crashed at Pecos and Bonanza roads, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officials. An investigation revealed the man was making a left onto a private driveway when he drove into the lane of another driver traveling northbound on Pecos Road.
The crash caused the driver on Pecos to crash into two other vehicles that were stopped at the exit of the private drive.
Police say the 79-year-old, identified as Steven Stochl, was transported to UMC with “serious” injuries and died on Friday. Another driver, a 30-year-old woman, was also transported to UMC with minor injuries.
Police said the driver’s death marks the 116th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction in 2025.
The crash remains under investigation by Metro Police.
