LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Police said a Las Vegas man died in a crash involving a pickup truck Saturday at an I-15 on-ramp.
Nevada State Police said the crash happened Saturday, Jan. 4 around 11:26 p.m. on the I-15 southbound on-ramp at Lake Mead.
The driver of the pickup truck drove eastbound on Lake Mead, approaching the on-ramp. At the same moment, a pedestrian, later identified as Anthony Jomar Reeves, walked outside an implied crosswalk.
The driver of the Dodge Ram tried to steer right and avoid the pedestrian, but was unsuccessful. Reeves was struck and the driver came to a controlled stop west of the I-15 southbound traffic signal.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. The 42-year-old pedestrian died at the scene.
The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Traffic Homicide Unit.
