LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — FOX5 obtained court documents that revealed new details in the moments leading up to an alleged DUI crash that caused a power outage for thousands.
On July 31 around 2:24 p.m., a vehicle versus pedestrian collision was reported near the intersection of Vegas Drive and Buffalo Drive.

According to court documents, witnesses told police a white truck veered off the road and struck several fixed objects. The truck flipped and eventually came to a rest east of the intersection.
Bystanders noticed a male lying in debris of a destroyed bus stop nearby.
The arrest report explained the driver of the 2018 Ram had been involved in a hit-and-run collision near the intersection of North Rampart Boulevard and Vegas Drive. The crash resulted in minor damage to a Maserati.
As the RAM was attempting to flee the hit-and-run scene. The truck was heading eastbound on Vegas Drive at a high rate of speed while the driver of the Maserati followed.
The Ram impatiently entered the intersection on Buffalo Drive in the right turn lane. The Ram truck struck the curb, then drove up on the sidewalk, drove through Landscaping, hit a streetlamp, fire hydrant, an electrical box, as well as a bus stop structure where a pedestrian was waiting, and a water district equipment box, all before overturning and sliding to a rest in the eastbound travel lanes of Vegas Drive, said the report.
Police identified the driver of the Ram as Roberto Olivas.

The pedestrian struck at the bus stop was identified as Billy Blanchard. Blanchard was taken to UMC Trauma with substantial injuries. Officials say, Blanchard suffered a brain bleed, fractured jaw, torn lung, broken ribs, and fractured left leg.
Olivas was taken to the hospital with a fractured neck and other minor injuries. Olivas told police he had a drink around 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Casino.
According to a report conducted, the driver of the Ram was traveling at nearly 100 MPH before the crash occurred.
Olivas is facing charges for reckless driving, DUI resulting in death or substantial bodily harm, failure to provide proof of insurance, and operating an expired unregistered vehicle.
Olivas is set to appear in court on Tuesday, August 5.
