LAS VEGAS (FOX5) —A Las Vegas organization that helps homeless mothers is asking for community help as residents face a complete loss of food benefits.

Living Grace Homes reports a 100% drop in food benefits across its residents and a steep rise in requests for emergency meals. Every mother in the program is waiting for food benefits to start back up.

“Living Grace has always supplemented that with additional food. And our food donations were down a bit, and our shelves have been more or less emptied,” said Kathleen Miller, founding director of Living Grace Homes.

Living Grace Homes is hosting a food and gift drop-off day Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m.

The organization is asking the community to bring non-perishable canned goods, baby formula and baby food.
